Every living body needs to secure its own survival, regular and balanced diet. For humans, however, eating is more than just prolonging life, ig. eating can also be part of societal means or in a negative way eating is used wrongly to relieve stress or boredom. Eating disorders can be diagnosed when the forms of a natural, to ensure the survival-oriented nutrition fall significantly out of balance. == General == An eating disorder occurs when a person eats, or refuses to eat, to satisfy a psychological need and not physical needs such as hunger. The person then no longer minds the physical signals of hunger and satiety, or even no longer can interpret the signals in a correct way. Further an eating disorder is defined as a certain mentally-related and health-damaging interference concerning the type and quantity of food. This includes the volume exaggerated, to the excessive development of adipose tissue leading nutrition (obesity), the preference for a harmful diet (alcohol,fat- and vitamin-poor diet), the quantitative malnutrition (anorexia) and the occurrence of attacks of greedy, excessive eating up to vomiting (bulimia). == References == == External links ==
